Roaring Meg set to reward community projectsroaring meg3

Local retail park, Roaring Meg, has launched a brand new awards initiative in support of the town’s community projects.

The Roaring Meg Community Support campaign will reward four lucky groups, who are looking to develop their local scheme, with a £2000 prize between September 2016 and May 2017.

Sarah Rawlings from Roaring Meg Retail and Leisure said they are encouraging groups in the area to come forward and let them know about their inspiring work to be in with a chance to win the Roaring Meg Community Support award. “As part of the wider community here in Stevenage, we take pride in being a big supporter of local groups and projects, especially through our purpose-built arts centre and we felt this award would be the best way to give recognition,” she said.

“Many people in Stevenage do invaluable work for the community and everyone at Roaring Meg Retail and Leisure is really excited to hear some influential stories from all across the area,” Sarah added.

The Stevenage based shopping park have previously worked alongside The Comet Community Awards, where they recognised Community Heroes for going the extra mile for others in the area. “This year, we have switched up our initiative so the winners can really reap the benefits of the £2000 prize fund through development and completion of their community projects. Much like our Community Heroes award, we are expecting tons of fascinating stories to come our way and we would like to wish everyone the best of luck.”
